Should We Be Friends With People Who Disagree With Us About Politics?

The easy, attractive answer is “yes”.

Someone who answered with an unqualified “no” would be an ideological freak after all. Such an answer would imply that nothing in humanity, and in human life, approaches the status of politics.

Then again, an unqualified “yes” — and I might have answered with an unqualified “yes” before — is too easy.
