Reading an essay in the left-wing In These Times magazine about left-wingers who have drifted rightwards was a bit like listening to a man trying to explain how his girlfriend left him when he’s so kind and handsome. There’s no element of self-reflection — no questioning of censoriousness, or hysteria, or authoritarianism.
