Why I “Counter-Signal”
I’m sometimes accused of “counter-signalling”. Properly, counter-signalling is ostentatious humility. Multi-billionaire Mark Zuckerberg wearing sweatshirts that looked like they cost $5 at his local supermarket was one example. More informally, “counter-signalling” has come to mean making a show of criticising people on “your side”.
